Did you guys do the standard maintenance, starting with patching and verifying the game?
1. Select game in Steam Library, right-click Properties, then Updates to choose Automatic Updating and to Allow Background Downloads.
2. Select game in Steam Library, right-click Properties, then Local Files and Verify Integrity of Game Cache.
Those with non-AMD computers, did you try disabling DX11?
1. Locate BmEngine.ini: Steam steamapps common Batman Arkham Origins SinglePlayer BMGame Config BmEngine.ini
2. Open BmEngine.ini with NotePad
3. Locate «AllowD3D10=False» and change False to True
4. Locate «AllowD3D11=True» and change True to False
5. Save file and restart computer
Try starting in Windowed mode, then if the game opens go immediately into the Graphic Options menu and reduce your screen resolution from maximum. Those with older rigs might test with 1280×720. For Windowed mode: From your Library right-click on game > Properties > General > Launch Options. In the text field type including the hyphen: -windowed
The following is an old Ozzy crash fix but try it anyway. Open DefaultEngine.ini or BmEngine.ini. Locate BSmoothFrameRate = True and change True to False or 0 (numeric zero)

When the fatal ozzy error was appearing, in my task manager my disk was showing as 100% and never had that until this error started showing. To fix this:
1) Press Windows logo key + R at the same time, and type in services.msc.
2) Locate Windows Search option, double click it to enter its Properties window.
3) Change the Startup type to Disabled. Then click Apply and OK to save your change.
4) Check your computer’s disk usage: Type “task manager” in the Windows search bar and select Task Manager, then in the Processes tab, look at the % at the top of the Disk column. If it’s no longer 100%, you’ve fixed the problem!
Shutdown your PC and restart after these settings have been applied. I was able to play for about 4 hours and never had the fatal error show up afterwards.

Sorry I haven’t been around to check my post. Buck got what I meant, I haven’t been playing the game for 5 years, I recently bought and played it, and I saw the same thing that plagued the game was still present after all these years -since the game’s release-
Anyway, I had taken pictures of the crash via phone, and uploaded them here.
I would appreciate any help.
you can take a screenshot with shift+prt scrn, then paste it into paint.
In this case there’s no real clues. as I said above the debugging symbols aren’t included with the game (hence the «filename not found» message, which does NOT mean the file is missing, only that it can’t find info about it in the non-existent debugging files).
Barring any other inferences it’s likely a driver problem as only the game and the kernel library ntdll.dll are referenced. This can be because something is wrong with the driver or graphcs card, or the card doesn’t support the features the game needs.
Make sure you meet the game’s requirements, make sure the drivers (and all other software) is up to date.
remove the bmgame.ini file and let it be recreated (this happens automagically when the game is started)
You can also try forcing DX9 mode which is documented all over the forums.

Thanks for the reply, I couldn’t take a screenshot while the pc was in this error state, so I had to use my phone.
I have a 980Ti which is definitely an overkill for a game that came out in 2013 I think. I built my pc at the end of 2016. Also my processor is 6700K and I have 32 GB of ram.
All my drivers are up-to-date and I don’t have any unnecessary apps or programs. I play Dying Light at max settings without any problem for instance orr Mass Effect Andromeda for that matter.
What I gathered from various forums is that this game was rushed and riddled with bugs, and the support was terrible. I think I’ll just uninstall and call it a «regrettable purchase». Again, thanks for your time and concern.

I’m having trouble with Arkham Origins on PC. Just picked it up this morning on Steam. I got into the game the first time without issues. I changed my graphics settings (because the game defaulted to windowed 1280×720 resolution O.o). I run at 1920×1200 so I changed my res to that and set it to fullscreen, turned off vsync (never been a fan), and turned on physx. I had to restart the game because of the physx being turned on and when I did, my game is crashing as soon as the «Search for downloadable content» message goes away, where you pick what save you want to use.
I get this error message and a crash to the desktop. And then I have to end the application from task manager in order to get it to unload out of memory and allow me to start it up again.
I had thought to check for a config file to turn off physx. I found the xml file in my documents under WB Games -> Batman AO and changed the physx value from true to false in notepad and it still crashes. Am I just stuck hoping for a patch soon? Has anyone else had this issue? I’ve searched a few times and I get a bunch of Arkham CITY issues that sound similar but nothing for Origins yet… then again it did just release… Might just try a backup and reinstall here.
TL;DR Batman Arkham Origins crashes to desktop with a «Fatal Error Ozzy, etc» message ever since I changed my graphics settings. picture of error
EDIT: Basic system specs if they help
-
i7 940 2.93 GHz
-
Geforce 470GTX
-
6GB DDR3
-
Plenty of HDD space
-
Windows 8.1
EDIT 2: Backed up, deleted the folder with the config file and all content via steam. Reinstalled. It started in windowed mode again and as soon as I changed to fullscreen it crashed :
EDIT 3: I’m playing! It was still crashing on me for whatever reason and I decided I’d see if the multiplayer worked. It did and when I went back to the single player on a whim, it ended up working! Seems something with a Call of Duty game worked like that with getting map packs or something to recognize in game. So to anyone else having the issue, try starting the Online component!

Can anyone give me a hand with this. All my research tells me its a pretty wide problem which happened after a recent patch.
