Error reading application id please either write to steam

I installed HL1 dedicated server as instructed in steamcmd tutorial.. all looks ok, all files seems to be where they should be..

But when try to start the server I get the error:

error reading the application id, please either write it in steam_appid.txt or use the launcher!

Problem 1: steam_appid.txt is already in the valve directory and it contains appid 70

Problem 2: When I use the launcher I cannot choose anything else than game: counterstrike
I want to run HL1 server .

I used appid 90 when installing (as said in help text appid 90 is the same for cs and hl) but cannot choose half-life as game when starting server.

Is it only my that are stupid or are there more I should know that is not mentioned in the instructions for using the steamcmd.exe?

The solution to the problem that half-life does not appear in the game selection, and only counter-strike, is as follows:
Go to the root directory of the game, that is, the folder where you have the half-life server installed and enter the folder of the mod valve. For example: « SteamCMD HLServer valve » (enter the valve folder) and open the following file with notepad, «liblist.gam».
Edit it, and where it says: type «singleplayer_only», put: type «multiplayer_only».
This will show half-life when starting the Half Life Dedicated Server.

And as for the error window that says «error reading the application id, please either write it in steam_appid.txt or use the launcher!», It is because you have to put a file called «rev.ini», in the root folder of the game.

Да можно и не переустанавливать даже. Скачай Media Creation Tool с сайта майков, выбери обновлене винды. Винда свежая встанет, настройки, программы и документы останутся.

Запускать игры напрямую из Стим Библиотеки.
Провести проверку файлов дважды подряд.

Стим запускать только от админа (и делать так изначально).

Если игры коррапттяся обратно — удалять читы, вирусы и кряки — и валидировать игры повторно.

Just tried booting TF2, just got a fatal error saying the following:

if that does not work, try uninstalling your anti virus and running tf2 again

Not an anti-virus problem as TF2 is already in the whitelist.

Also I am currently reinstalling TF2.

Проблема у меня в следующем: Ни с того, ни с сего кс начала тупить, начал отставать разброс, после прыжка и приседания камера трясется, хотя должна плавно идти. Вот я заснял все на демо(Конечно у меня все выглядит хуже, так как тут действия идут сглажено) http://forum.r46.ru/download/file.php?id=4052 . Поставив конфиг с пиратской кс лаги по моему исчезли. Почему ни с того ни с сего появились лаги, и почему при пиратском кфг стало лучше?

Проблема решена! В конфиге в параметрах cl_updaterate и cl_cmdrate изменить значение на «101» и в rate поменять на «20000». Спасибо TiGear

Друзья вообщем такая проблема: поставил стим скачал контру и при подключении к какому либо серверу выдает одну и тужу ошибку connection to server lost during level change ах да и даже не может создать собственную карту( просто начинает грузит и вылетает( в главное меню(

При попытке создать сервер он просто вылетает! в коносле прописывается следующее:

BUILD 4554 SERVER (0 CRC)
Server # 1
load failed.
Connection to server lost during level change.
custom resource list not valid — not conne

А иногда бывает что может подключиться игрок летает как угорелый к стенки от стенки как будто стоит спихак))) Где то читал про это советуют оставить 1 ядро в Диспетчере задач ну мне это не помогло!)
