I’ve just completed Horizon Zero Dawn and despite the warning message (I’m still on 1803) that pops up every time I start the game, it mostly ran without any issues (only crashed a couple of times over 100 hours of gameplay, which is a non-issue).

Maybe they’d rather put a hard restriction on the version that they ran QA on than have people potentially running into technical issues from outdated OS and complaining, badly reviewing them.
Maybe they even found some specific issues on older patches.

This is similar to people with 11+ year old CPUs without AVX calling for the game to cater to their inability to update, you’re running a 3 year old OS version, don’t be surprised when newer SW doesn’t like it.

Currently they are screaming at apple (quietly) about how older iOS’s cant handle file sizes for one of their games and constantly getting bounced back to maintain backwards compatibility.

If someones got a work around..great. but don’t be surprised if you encounter difficulties.

Got one friend who constantly complains non-stop about his game crashing / instabilities on a Windows 7 system.

If it were a secondary computer that never touches the Interwebs, absolutely there’s just no reason to do it but. to actually knowingly go to Windows 10 without a fundamental understanding that it commits you to updates AT LEAST once every 60 months?
