Hello, Max here from MaxMineCraftServer.com — I have a problem.
I don’t know why, but people without OP or *.* Permission can’t build or anything.
They get the message: You are not permitted to interact with ###…
Members already have modifyworld.* (I’m using PEX) and I think it’s another plugin…
I don’t know what to do. You can try it yourself by joining MaxMineCraftServer.info <— IP

Get rid of EssentialsAntiBuild, it’s not really necessary. or give all players ‘essentials.build’

I’ve read your msgs, but I don’t see anything that can help me. I’m thinking In my groups.yml, there is a code I’m missing like modifyworld or essentials.build but I’ve tried modifyworld and essentials.build but they don’t work My server adress is darkmatterhelix.mcpro.co or if you don’t feel like coming, you can just leave a code that will make it where new players/default players can build,pickup items,sleep, etc?
I hope you join quickly because my players are mad lol thanks!!!!!

I have the same problem. I put in that permission and I’m in the group that has it.
Here’s part of the group permissions:

Then below, my user thing:

— essentials.build

What could be wrong?!

EDIT:
I FIGURED OUT THE PROBLEM.
There is a .jar in the plugins folder called EssentialsAntiBuild. Delete it. Problem solved.

Hey guys ive had to figure this out on my own but if u go to google and type essentials command reference permisisons it will have a list. On that list there will be permisisons for players to be able to interact with items,blocks,mobs and more
Also for your essentials config u should take the # off from the spot that signs can do so u can have colored signs and for shop us.

Whenever I try to break anything or use any command in my default group I get this:

Parser couldn’t find anything wrong with it. As you can see, I have modifyworld.* and essentials.build on my default group and both of the players mentioned in there, both my accounts, are in the default group. Come to think of it, more players did join the server earlier, but left. Is something wrong with my default group?
Put «default: true» indented under options:

Oh, lol, I didn’t noticed it the 1st time….you have your permissions under options…which is incorrect. Your entire default group is being seen as empty of any permissions at all.

If he wants to use Essentials, let him…its his choice. I prefer WorldGuard but each has their place.

As LHammonds pointed out, your permissions for the default and builder groups were indented too far and this prevented PEX from reading them. I also fixed the inheritance in your advisor group.
GUYS GET RID OF ESSENTAILS ANTIBUILD ONLY THAT THE REST IS FINE AND GET WORLD GUARD THAT WILL FIX THE PROBLEM DONT FORGET TO GET WORLD EDIT. that happened once on my server

dont touch any onther plugins. No matter what you do the only way to get rid of it is to take off anti build

This is incorrect. EssentialsAntibuild is what is giving that chat message, but it is possible to fix this problem without removing the plugin. The problem is a misconfigured permissions file. Once that is corrected, Antibuild will quit giving those messages.
wait what just take it off and see what happens. thats what i did to my server when that happened. and my spawn is still protected
What I am saying is that there is no reason to take off Antibuild because it is actually doing what it is designed to do. The cause of the problem is with the permissions file.

Yes, you could remove Antibuild and protect your spawn with WorldGuard as you did, and it would be a functioning work-around, but it is not the only way to solve this issue.

How about we just let the server owner decide what they want to do? Both solutions have been presented here; now they have choices.

Edit: and yes, I am sure that the other solution will also work. My server is set up similarly with PermissionsEx and EssentialsAntibuild, and I do not use WorldGuard. My players can interact with items and blocks, but spawn is still protected (though I use GriefPrevention for that). Antibuild does not give me any errors.

Hello i have just recently created my server and i have been doing fine until now. I was getting prepared to begin allowing users to enter the server, when i encountered this problem.

«You are not permitted to use, interact…..»…..It seems when i de op, i can not touch or do anything. (when i am op, i can) This is a problem….. i would like to permit new user or just the guest group to follow their set permissions..Ideally i would like all groups to work right.

I de opped myself and switched my group to the group i created called «guest» . The «guest» group is in the «guest» world file. THIS OCCURRED WHEN I WAS IN THE GUEST WORLD. (/plugins/GroupManager/worlds/guest)

The code for the GroupManager config.yml file is:

I have set build to true, and gave the permission node to build and interact, yet in the game it seems these permissions are not working. However, i would like to add that the code must not be all wrong becuase the prefix ‘[guest]’ does appear in the game for the guest group.
